Hey y'all! Just letting you know I'm taking a vacation in Chicago for the whole week today! Work has been hectic and almost impossible to maintain that work-life balance. So I figure screw it! I don't want to spend yet another weekend doing an extra 8 hours on wonderful days.
So I'll be there but will also take pictures of my incursion and will upload them when I'm done. So please keep an eye out for that.
That'll be all.
Remember to find time to relax and have fun!
It's something I had wanted to do for a long time. Years ago I noticed how much stuff wasn't placed in collections for every artwork or story I had favorited. How ever I was unable to do due to the time it might take just placing everything where they need to go. But as more stuff was favorited, the more work I unfortunately had to do. On top the fact I had to work, as well as study at the time.
It took a couple hours but now I've finally done exactly that. I just hope to remember the send any further favorited stuff to their respected folders instead of the Featured area. Took a long time to get around to it, but it's better to do it then leaving unorganized indefinitely.
I think it's been almost 3 years since I last came on this site. Boy does time move so fast. But there are reasons why I haven't been on in quite some time:
For one thing college has taken up a lot of my time. Making sure assignments were completed and studying for exams is always a stress inducer. But it is an important thing to do. As time went on I had to focus more and more on that so I could find work in order to support myself. It wasn't easy but I must say it was worth the results.
Also, working during the Covid-19 pandemic has put me through a lot of anxiety. I was among those individuals that had to work and couldn't take the benefit of doing so from home. I had a hard time finding work as is and I was fortunate enough to make some money at the restaurant I've been at for the past couple of years in order to get by. At the same time when I wasn't working I had been preoccupied playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Even with some more time to myself I could of taken the opportunity to revisit some old places I used to go.
Which brings me to my third reason: The website has changed considerably. Not sure if it's for better or for worse, but it has changed. For some time back in early 2017 I was feeling drained coming on here every day. I wasn't sure if it was the lack of content I was seeing being uploaded from those I follow or some of the artists and writers I enjoy announcing their departure or disappearing entirely. Because of that I had less reasons for coming on. So the daily logins turned into weekly, then to monthly only for the sake of checking messages. Until I stopped entirely. The website that is deviantart feels like something I don't at all recognize. While it's nice to change the look of the site to keep it relevant, searching for things has become more of a chore.
So yeah. That's that. I will try to come back on as often as I can. Can't guarantee that, but I'll try never the less. After all the craziness 2020 brought, it does feel nice to be back. Even if said place isn't exactly how I remember it. But that's life for ya. Never staying the same for very long.
